I actually came home yesterday, but didn't really feel like posting. I am doing much better today. A slight codine headache, and uncomfortable scratchy tender throat. Not as bad as I expected, but not as good as I want to be already. Surgery went well, and I had a good experience at the hospital. All the nurses were kind and helpful. I had a bit of bummer for roomate, an elderly lady, who had been in hospital because of a broken hip. She was confused a lot of the time, and was very rude to the nurses. It was sad to see her and see signs of what must be Alzheimer's. She kept trying to pester me into talking, but I could only wave and say in the most croaky voice that I couldn't chat.
Things have been going okay at home. I been able to play with the girls for short periods, and I have been getting lots and lots of naps.
When I am more clear headed I will post again.
That's what I got.
I have ugly yucky tonsils. I had bad ones for years, but really never knew what to do about it. I mostly just ignored them till we moved here to Alberta, where my Tonsils yuckiness and the dry climate conspired to make Winters Sick-time for me. Today I went to see a specialist who didn’t have to look at them twice to decide that they needed to come out. They are what they call Cryptic Tonsils, in that they have crevices, where gunk collects and it can’t be treated by anti-biotics. We scheduled the Tonsillectomy for the soonest possible date, Oct 13. So a week before my 28th birthday I will be having a surgery most people have by the time they are 18. I will have to stay overnight at the hospital after surgery, which is a good thing in my mind. I hate outpatient surgery, where a patient and their family are thrown into questionable recovery, hours after coming to.
After scheduling this I am very glad that we are celebrating my 28th early by going to the Sting-Annie Lennox Concert on Canadian Thanksgiving. It will mean a busy week, hopefully not too stressful on the girls.
Ack. I am hacking up a lung. I finally was brought down by a spring cold that has been tracking me all week. I have lost my voice, and possibly soon, my will to live =). I am going out in awhile to do my taxes, if I hadn’t had enough fun planned for my day. But I do hope to have a big post about season 1 and 2 of Babylon 5 posted here today or tomorrow.
